The Church of St. John the Evangelist is a Christian community of faith and parish within the Anglican Diocese of Niagara in the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The church was established in 1890 and is located in west downtown Hamilton. It serves a large population of diverse people who live in the immediate neighbourhood and beyond,offering worship services, spiritual care and nurture, as well as community development through programs for youth, adults and seniors, and those at risk for social isolation. St John's is also a partner in the arts, providing performance space for amateur and professional musicians, and gathering place for the community,
