Parkinson Canada is a national charity that provides services, support and education to individuals and the health care professionals that treat them. In fulfilling its mandate, it develops programs and credible material about Parkinson's in both official languages, in print and digital formats. Parkinson Canada offers a toll-free information and referral line, support one-on-one, and in groups, information packages and access to local experts. Staff and volunteers deliver programs for people living with Parkinson's, care providers, health professionals, long term care homes, seniors' centres, etc. Parkinson Canada increases awareness and understanding of Parkinson's through strategic and effective communications and marketing to a variety of stakeholders. The organization advocates on issues that concern the Parkinson's community in Canada, working with coalitions and community partners on behalf of the more than 100,000 Canadians who have Parkinson's disease. Parkinson Canada funds innovative research to understand causes, identify better treatments and find a cure, through the Parkinson Canada Research Program. The organization's mission is made possible through the generosity of donors.
