Sunbeam Centre is a transfer payment agency funded under the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act and the Child and Family Services Act of the Province of Ontario. Sunbeam Centre provides residential care, treatment and training for individuals with a developmental disability and other medical or physical challenges. Services are offered on long term, short term, parental relief and emergency basis through residential and day program options. Life skills training, music therapy, sensory stimulation and leisure are offered. Snozelen and a Therapeutic pool are available to residential and community clients. Sunbeam administers Developmental Services Resource Centre (DSRC) which provides a number or services to children and adults with a developmental disability living in the community. Services provided include: social work, speech and language, behavioural, community health and service coordination. DSRC also provides educational services to Sunbeam group homes, and Boards of Education.
