Operate one or more places of worship of God with services conducted in the Latvian ( or other languages) in accordance with the tenets and doctrines of the Lutheran faith; Maintain and operate a ministry of Christian education in the knowledge of God and the guidance of all of life as revealed in the Holy Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments; Maintain, operate and/or support Christian camps, programmes to alleviate human suffering and meet the physical and emotional needs of persons in the local community, in Canada, in Latvia and in the world at large in order to demonstrate and disseminate the Lutheran faith; The pastor teaches confirmand classes, christens, confirms and weds members and officiates at funeral services and leads additional worship services at the Latvian long term care facility Kristus Darzs Latvian Home in Woodbridge ON; The clergy regularly visit Church members in their homes, hospitals, retirement residences; The Ladies Auxiliary focuses on fellowship and fund raising; The Church operates a Sunday school and an adult Bible Study group staffed by volunteers; Participation in outreach programs to assist and support the local community and six sister congregations in Latvia; Operation of a summer retreat and a 3-week children's summer camp for congregation members and others connected to the Latvian community at its rural property, offering regular worship services, plus some religious education.
