Some new initiatives: Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council - a collective impact approach to poverty alleviation through program development, Inner-city Votes and Work the Vote - voting education campaigns geared to inner-city neighbourhood and employers on their rights and responsibilities, Gang Action Interagency Network (GAIN) - works to support front-line service providers for those at-risk or already gang involved for better coordination through research and networking as well as developing a comprehensive gang strategy, Restorative Justice Manitoba - the association will educate on and advocate for more access to restorative justice programs and practices though our role to date has been to help coordinate a coalition of partner organizations in developing the associations structure, Winnipeg Police Board Consultations - we facilitated the public consultations on the Winnipeg Police Service's strategic plan, participation in working groups examining homelessness and affordable utilities While our work on some of these may lead to future political recommendations, our main role remains as facilitators, researchers and educators as per our charitable purposes
