Supports Canadian writers and literary endeavors in English in the field of literature known as Belles Lettres including by means of a prize known as the RBC Charles Taylor Prize for Belles Lettres to be publicized and awarded on a triennial or other periodic basis. Beginning in 2004 the prize is awarded annually.
