The Business Families Foundation/Fondation des familles en affaires {"foundation" or "BFF"}, a registered charitable organization, was incorporated on July 28, 1993 under Part II of the Canada Corporation Act and continued under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporation Act on January 1, 2014. Its mission is to help business families and the professionals who advise them to understand the issues such families will encounter and make them aware of some of the tools and options that are available to them to address such issues. To accomplish its mission the Foundation develops, and encourages the development of, educational materials and programs and encourages and sponsors research related to the issues of business families. The current approach of the Foundation is to: -support the establishment and continuity of an international network of university-based centres for family enterprises {"Centres"}; - produce and distribute multimedia assisted educational material for use with business families, professionals and students; and - train, coach and connect an international team of facilitators/mentors in using BFF material to assist business families, professionals and students.
