This year we continued with our storm shelter project. There are now 2 storm shelters within the park, built using the original design for a CPR shed, but with an alteration on one side opening it up to provide light into the shelter. Each has been painted CPR red, and inside is a bench, historical photos, and bicycle repair tools. A mural has been mounted on the back inside wall in one shelter, and we have plans to do something similar in the second shelter next year. A major trail improvement project was just completed this fall (2016). This should improve the large mud puddle problem along the rail. A new project has begun this year to clear brush within two of the originalthree construction camps within the Myra Canyon. In 2017 we plan to install interpretive signs within the camps as a historical enhancement to the Park.
