Victim Services Wellington is funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General. The Victim Crisis Assistance Program has staff and volunteers that provide free non-judgemental, confidential support to people affected by crime and tragic circumstance. Services are available 24 hrs and 7 days a week to provide on scene or follow up support at request of emergency services. The Victim Quick Response Program can help eligible victims of violent crime who have no other means to cover the cost of emergency expense, counselling, funeral expense etc. Approx 85 volunteers contribute 30,000 hours a year. Spira Fund is a fund we use to give money to people who have a fire however do not have insurance. Project Lifesaver is a program that helps families to protect loved ones who wander. The wandering individual wears a transmitter which allows police to locate them in a timely manner using special equipment.
