The Sackville-Bedford Early Intervention Program is committed to providing support, information and education to families during the early years. Home visits to families who have children birth to school age with developmental delays. Develop Individual Family Service Plans with families and professionals. Operate a playgroup once a week for 2-3 years olds. Consultation with childcare programs in the Community. Assist parents with preschool and school transitions, parent support groups, operate a toy/book lending library for families and professionals. Provide summer school readiness group for children entering the public school in September. Provide a monthly sibling group (sibling who has a brother/sister with special needs). Work with other community agencies/groups to identify gaps in the community. Provide training to Early Childhood interventionists in the program and lend support to the parenting Journey Project which assists and supports families who have children between the age of 3-16 years.
