The charity keeps a body of trained and police screened volunteers on call, available for search and rescue or other emergency support works. The charity is involved in searches and recoveries the the request of RCMP, Nelson City Police, BC Ambulance and the emergency co-ordination centre in Victoria. This includes searching for missing people, medical and emergency evacuations and body recoveries. The charity continues to update the training of its volunteers to keep their skills current.
