The Olds & District Kiwanis Music Festival Society: -Organizes and operates an annual Festival of the Performing Arts for 2 1/2-3 weeks each March,including several days dedicated to school bands. Performances include piano,strings,instruments,bands,choral,vocal,speech arts and musical theatre. -Provides participants with the opportunity to perform and learn in a non-competitive environment with a teaching/learning format by engaging competent ajudicators. -Produces a Musical Theatre Showcase and a Grand Concert as part of the annual fesitval,each designed to spotlight the performances of festival participants and provide an opportunity for participants to perform before an audience. -Provides bands the opportuntiy to perform,participate in a workshop,and listen to other band performances -Utilizes the services of volunteers serving on the Board of Directors as well as to function as Secretaries and Door Personnel during the festival
