Services Provided by Atlantic Geoscience Society
Advancement, promotion and encouragement of the earth sciences in Atlantic Canada. Publication of the scientific journal "Atlantic Geology", available in printed or electronic format. AGS supports the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences; the Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show; the Science Atlantic Speaker Tour; the Atlantic Universities Geoscience Conference; the Annual Colloquium, which was held at the Holiday Inn in Truro on February 6-9, 2016; funding of student awards; the Gesner Medal and Distinguished Service Award. Support of the AGS Education Committee publications, AGS Video Committee DVD production and the EdGEO teachers workshop and field trips, which is held annually in August; and several other earth sciences meetings. AGS is a member of the Registry of Joint Stock Companies.
