The Phoenix Chamber Choir provides British Columbians with high-quality, innovative and dynamic choral concert experiences. The choir's mandate is to build and sustain a mixed choral chamber ensemble that presents a wide range of repertoire at the highest level of musical achievement, in concert and through recordings, to British Columbia, Canada and the world. Under Dr. Graeme Langager, Phoenix delivers a new artistic vision: energized, exquisitely polished performances of challenging contemporary repertoire, complex yet accessible lighter works, and compositions by distinguished and emerging Canadian composers. The Phoenix Chamber Choir offers an elite-level choral experience to the most talented and accomplished choral artists in the region, regardless of their status as professional or non-professional musicians. Phoenix engages in benefit and outreach concerts, an annual student composer competition, and youth mentorship programs.
