The mission of the BC Pipers Association is to foster and preserve Bagpipe music and Scottish Highland drumming. Activities to accomplish: monthly solo competitions for Pipers and Drummers, November through March. We host a major indoor competition for pipers and drummers and bands each spring; we bring in major National and International adjudicators for this event to ensure the competitive and skill levels of our members is being maintained at the highest level. We support independent Highland Games Associations in our area of mandate, by conducting seminars for judges, volunteers and Highland Gathering Committees; we provide technical assistance by way of a competitor management system and volunteers to assist Games operations. We offer training seminars and development grants to members to directly foster education around piping and drumming; we offer travel prizes for representatives of the BCPA to compete in Eastern Canada, Scotland and USA. We manage a web site and newsletter to communicate news, results, events and educational items to our members.
