Services Provided by Ontario Lawyers Assistance Program
A confidential assistance program, with respect to members of the legal profession in Ontario, including lawyers, students at law, judges and their families, to accomplish the following: (i) To help members recover from addiction to alcohol, drugs and/or other dependencies and addictions. (ii) To assist members dealing with mental and physical health and other issues of personal distress. (iii) To maintain on a confidential basis peer volunteer support programs to assist members and their families in dealing with mental and physical health and other issues of personal distress. (iv) To maintain and assist in the operation of programs that will provide crisis intervention and counselling, intake assessment, case management, referral and other similar services for the personal or professional well-being of members. (v) To provide educational and preventative programs for the legal profession about, and to create awareness of the above matters
