Friends of the Rouge Watershed (FRW) trains & coordinates thousands of students & volunteers each year to plant thousands of native trees, shrubs & wildflowers within the Rouge Park & surrounding watersheds. FRW conducts nature walks, educational seminars, conferences & otherpublic forums. FRW orgainzes habitat rehabilitation projects & community-based environmental action plans which involve schools, teachers, students, community leaders, businesses, governments & other environmental groups. FRW conducts research & monitoring on habitat, watershed & air-shed matters & conveys this information to decision makers & the public to promote environmentally informed planning & decision making. FRW works with youth & community on clean air & green watershed projects. These projects increase understanding of the causes of pollution & ecosystem damage & the opportunities to avoid damage & restore environmental.
