Devitt's Cemetery is a

In partnership with a professor/researcher from York University, the Cemetery's board is endeavouring to have a history written of the families and individuals buried within the grounds. The book will include the history of the local community of Blackstock, and to raise funds in support of the Cemetery's ongoing operations through sales of the book. In 2017, the Cemetery will also made application to the Township of Scugog to have the Cemetery placed on the township's Heritage List, with the longer term objective of having the grounds receive a Heritage Designation. When the Province of Ontario eventually proclaims the regulations for the new Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act, it is the Cemetery's intent to continue the process to reconstitute itself as an Ontario Not For Profit Corporation.
