EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS: Operate a range of services and programs directed at helping people secure sustainable employment thereby reducing poverty. Programs include: Employment Service Centre Program of BC and ASPECT Skills Connect. TRAINING SOLUTIONS: Provide accessible affordable training that strengthens employability options for individuals and addresses long-term sustainability for organizations. Programs include: Mining and Refining for Women- The development of a mentorship program that improves the retention and advancement if women employed in non-traditional sectors. Stepping Out Bursary to provide support funding for women to engage in entry-level training for career exploration. RESEARCH PROJECTS: Research related to issues of poverty and labour market dynamics. Projects include: Mining and Refining for Women - Included a site-specific gender lens assessment, focus group and needs assessment. Getting to Home - addresses the affordable and homelessness issues in the community.
