In the most recent year, the CDSA held a symposium in St. Andrews by the Sea and provided a unique opportunity for academic professionals and collectors of decorative arts from across Canada to see historic and contemporary works from that province. For this year a large symposium will be held in Toronto, Ontario with the theme "Tradition Redefined. The Decorative Arts on Contemporary Urban Context". The larger symposia are supplemented by smaller showings, auction invitations and lectures organized by members of the Honorary National Council members in each province.
