The declared purpose of the Yves Landry Foundation(`the Foundation`) is to facilitate opportunities for technological education and training through partnerships among industry, education and government. The Yves Landry foundation is an impartial intermediary and advocate for outstanding technological education and training across Canada. Currently there are three ongoing programs-one funded through the Federal Development Agency of Southern Ontario and one funded by GFTC both designed to administer a program which provides grants to manufacturers the objectives of which were to deliver and upgrade training and provide continuous learning opportunities to those employed in these organizations in order to improve innovation and competitiveness within the manufacturing environment; the third program, which was self funded by the Foundation, was to provide vintage automobiles in need of restoration to secondary schools as a learning aid for students in hopes it would engage and promote the trades as a viable career option and improve the overall learning experience of the students.
