Services Provided by Coming Home Society
The Society is working in partnership with the Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) on a new support program- Wisdom of Elders (the "Program"). The Program is connected with the development of the new 'Native Youth Health and Wellness Centre', in which Elder support for youth is one component. It aims to connect at risk youth with a selected core group of Aboriginal Elders for ongoing cultural and spiritual teachings and individuals one-to-one meeting time. The Society and UNYA have been spending time on identifying a core group of Elders and listing the gifts each can offer to the youth.
