ELLA's mission is to offer adults over the age of 50, high quality, affordable, non-credit educational courses, seminars and workshops which stimulate both mind and body by exploring liberal arts, fine arts, sciences, humanities and physical activities. During the year this was mainly offered through a 3 week program at the University of Alberta. The vast majority of the work necessary to develop and implement the program is done by volunteers. In 2016 140 volunteers provided more than 7000 hours of volunteer work to ensure a successful program.
