Education programs: School Litter Challenge and Youth Environmental Stewardship Club The School Litter Challenge encourages the adoption of the schoolyard to perform monthly audits of litter, sorting of waste based on provincial curbside requirements, reporting to Mission Adopt-a-Block, and implementing new school-wide practices to reduce waste on the school grounds. The Youth Environmental Stewardship Club encourages the participation of students grades 7-12 in anti-litter efforts in and around their schools. Through participation in the program students gain valuable volunteer hours, the chance to earn a Streamkeepers certificate, and participation in all Adopt-a-Block community events.
