The Ottawa Hospital Civic Auxiliary (the "Auxiliary") is a charitable organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of patients at The Ottawa Hospital - Civic Campus by supporting staff in the provision of care, by providing retail services that address the needs of the hospital community and by providing financial support for patient care, education and research programs. The Auxiliary's business operations include retail shops (Flower Shop, Gift Shop, Book Store) a Lottery Kiosk, a Vendor Program, Breast Pump EquipmentRentals, Premises Rental and Sales Commissions earned from third parties that operate food and beverage outlets at the Civic Campus. The retail operations of the Auxiliary are staffed primarily by volunteers. The Auxiliary maintains a small team of salaried staff that oversees operations and liaises with The Ottawa Hospital management. This staff presently consists of a Director of Business Operations, a Financial Administrator, two Inventory and Customer Support positions and part-time evening and weekend supervisors. Three roles are full-time. The Auxiliary is accountable to a volunteer Board of Directors, meets regularly with the Board and holds an Annual General Meeting with members.
