During 2015-2016, the Ontario Museum Association: delivered the courses in the Certificate in Museum Studies program, a certification program for in-career heritage professionals; delivered a series of professional development and training events on museum standards and best practices for museum and heritage workers, students, and volunteers, and developed online resources to support museum work; and held a two-day conference in Alliston on the importance of museums' contributions to the vitality of Ontario's communities; continued to develop a program on museum succession which includes addressing governance, community engagement, and fostering an emerging museum professional workforce within the first ten years of their career.
