Oxford Winds is a community concert band providing educational programs instrumental music through a novice band, specialized classes and workshops. In addition, the Oxford Winds provides concerts to the community throughout the year at retirement homes, nursing homes, hospital, public parks, public libraries, and churches. The band also provides the opportunity for experienced musicians to remain active in music throughout their lives, as well as enhancing secondary school programs by offering opportunities for students to make music that diversifies their education. The bank offers an award to a graduating high school student to assist in their post-secondary education and encourages school music programs by awarding two band trophies at the local music festival. In addition, the band loans instruments to those who cannot afford to purchase an instrument.
