We continue to co-ordinate the BC Purple Martin Stewardship & Recovery Program. We monitor Purple Martin activity at 80+ marine & 20 freshwater near box sites, conduct box checks at active colonies to document number of breeding pairs, number of young produced & stage of development of the young. We band restlings and read bands on previously banded birds. We distribute program brochures to the general public & give presentations about the program to conservation & naturalist groups throughout the year. Over 100 volunteers participate in the program
