Services Provided by Noojmowin Teg Health Centre
We provide specialized primary care services including clinics and appointments with our Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietitians and Psychologists onstaff. We work with local health centre staff, schools, and communities on health awareness, promotion and education activities. These are carried out by our Exercise Specialist. Wellness Coordinator New Beginnings (FASD) cordinator, Child Nutrition Program Coordinator, in partnership with other staff and community workers. We provide culturally appropriate health care through a schedule of visits by a traditional healer as well as other community ceremonies and events coordinated by our Traditional Coordinator. We gather data and information on health indicators in our member communities and evaluate our programs and services and resultant health outcomes. We promote awareness of health careers amongst aboriginal youth - our aim is to encourage more local youth to enter the health profession.
