The park is funded by an active volunteer recycling program. A sorting shed was exected by volunteers. Ongoing maintenance of a trail & foot bridge, as well a viewing platform. Clearing of fallen trees & debris, maintenance of a family picnic site. A cross country ski trail is groomed in winter. The wetland area is a staging & breeding ground for wildfowl. #1 Park Planning & Maintenance Committee - a current picnic site 20' + 20' roofed shelter has been approved by the board. a regular Sat. morning work schedule will commence shortly. #2 Recycling Committee - now there's a consistent cash flow from a split recycling program with Deka Lake Ratepayler Assoc. #3 Community Events Committee - we now have access to a building (owned by CRD) from the Amalgamation of the area's 2 fire 'Dept; for a meeting room as well as cash award to continue community work; ie : Open House on May 22, speaker like Ramsay & District Lgr of fisheries presented a proposal for spawning Kokanee & upcoming fishing Deeby July 31.
