1. $4000 to two local scholarships to women on Salt Spring Island. One for $1000 to a young woman graduating from secondary school and enrolling in a degree granting program. The second, is a $3000, our Second Chance Bursary, which is awarded to a mature woman returning to post secondary school for a course of studies resulting in certification. 2.HOPE project--Funding for secondary schooling grants to third world Commonwealth countries through the UK, Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund (CCLEF), now renamed the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund or CGEF with the same charitable number 1048908. website http://cgefund.org/ This past year we sponsored 40 girls.
