The programs of the North American Intestinal Disease Education and Awareness Society IDEAS are to raise awareness of gastrointestinal diseases an disorders through education and public campaigns based on ability rather that disability. The emphasis is on funding programs for children, youth and youth adults and on funding medical research. IDEAS also raises funds to send children counselor in training camp. Often is only at camp that a child with an intestinal disease experiences the unconditional acceptance of one's peers and the confidence that this provides in dealing with their social environment, IDEAS provides a website that disseminates information regarding intestinal illness. IDEAS provides educational seminars for families and health professionals. IDEAS is one of the sponsors of the Gut Inspired website and programs.
