CAWST improves access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation in developing countries by building the knowledge and skills of people locally so that they can create affordable, sustainable solutions for themselves. CAWST provides educational materials, technical training and consulting to organizations implementing water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects. CAWST established Water Expertise and Training (WET) centres in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Caribbean to support more communities with WASH education, training and technical support. CAWST's virtual WET centre expands access to WASH resources. In Canada, CAWST's Youth Wavemakers programs helps educators and youth learn about and take action on global local water issues.
