The Montreal Children's Library mission is to develop literacy, foster imagination, and to connect children and parents to their communities by equipping them with the building block of life-long learning. The Montreal children' Library presently operats in one location in the Saint Michel district in Montreal North (all our activities are offered in English and French), Programs for pre-schoolers that include: Moms & Tots store time, special guests (authors, science animators, musicians) Programs for school age children that include: science club, chess club, arts & crafts club, special guests (authors, musicians, artists) Other services offered: story times for visiting daycares, activities for visiting school classes The branch has multilingual book collections, internet and offer reading & homework help Our outreach programs: Parent-Child Mother Goose Program - This pre-literacy 10 week program held 3 times a year for parents and their children encourages language development and socialization through rhymes and stories Extended Families/Familles ?largies - This inter-generational program is made up of an animator and a group of parents with young children who regularly go to a participating senior's centre for a shared activity.
