For the 2016-2017 Season Via Choralis is presenting 4 concerts with 2 minor concerts for elder care facilities. The winter concert will be "music about music" highlighting a young oboist, a cellist and a piece written by a local poet and composed by local composer. As well the winner of the "competition for compositions" will be performed. The February concerts will present the choir and chamber orchestra performing Vivaldi's famous Gloria back-to-back with a new Canadian work by the same name by Ontario composer Jeff Enns. The spring concert will celebrate Canada's Sesquicentenary and perform music, all by Canadian composers. The elementary schools will be invited to be involved by entering a contest for our concert poster. Via Choralis will also be commissioning a new work to celebrate Canada's birthday from a composer from Victoria.
