The Canadian Pet Loss and Bereavement Association continues to support the Metro Toronto Animal Loss Support Group, a subsidiary group under the umbrella of The Canadian Pet Loss and Bereavement Association, by supporting the running of monthly meetings (1st Tuesday of every month) along with telephone support to those who are grieving the loss of a companion animal. We continue to work in partnership with the Veterinary Emergency Clinic downtown who have provided space for the Metro Toronto Animal Loss Support Group to run monthly meetings at no charge to the public. We continue to look at setting up a website, but currently the cost factor seems prohibitive in finding someone at a reasonable price. Further, with the support of both "..." and "...." of the VEC downtown we are hoping their expertise and insight will help move the association forward. We continue to seek out soliciting corporate sponsorship with the goal of developing a pamphlet available on pet loss available "free of charge" to various veterinary clinics across Ontario. Once firmly established, we would like to offer a one or two-day conference to practitioners and lay people on pet loss. Currently, we continue to provide small community workshops when requested.
