Grassroots Assistance in Rural Development (GARD) improves drinking water in communities by:(1)developing and protecting springs (2) producing, distributing, monitoring and servicing bio-sand filters, (3) delivering a health and sanitation education and training program. Our projects are community supported. Members gain skills in construction & maintenance and women & children benefit as they are the main water collectors in Uganda. We are completing programs at 3 sites in Omoro subcounty (impacting~200 families/1,045 children). We are meeting with the communities of Kulu Alemmi and Omano-Angolo to prepare and implement programs.
