AVA provides volunteers to teach English, care for children living in orphanages, care for disabled children, educate local communities about basic nutrition, hygiene and health care, clean up litter in children's play areas & construct/rebuild/improve buildings to help communities in developing countries. AVA provides materials for construction projects. Volunteers are placed with a host family while staying abroad which teaches them first hand about life in developing countries creating awareness and instigating change. This fiscal year AVA had 14 volunteers that worked a total of 3384 hours. 15 bags of rice, 40kg of daal, 150kg of potatoes and 5 white boards for education were provided. AVA paid for 2 children's school fees. These programs were carried out in Nepal.
