Our mission at The Hospice Society of North Kootenay Lake is to offer compassionate care to the terminally ill, the dying, and the bereaved. Our trained volunteers offer conversation and empathetic listening on topics around death and dying; make home and hospital visits, and maintain phone contact with clients and their families; offer respite time to enable caregivers to take much-needed breaks; and simply share time and companionship--reading aloud or listening to music with clients. Our office has a well-stocked library of books, audio, and video resources to help clients explore the issues and problems that arise at the end of life.
