Industrial Areas Foundation Canada significantly increased its fundraising and project activity in the financial year to March 31, 2016. It was agreed by all affiliates to contract with Canada Helps to process online donations, which helped to increase the volume of small and recurring donations. For the first time, the Industrial Areas Foundation Regional Leadership Training was held in Canada. Thirty-nine community leaders from across the network, participated in training from February 5th - 9th at Capilano University. A vigorous fundraising campaign was carried out by IAFC to raise bursary funds for those wishing to attend this training. IAFC had a goal to financially support five promising leaders from the Vancouver area to attend the training, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate. Thanks to the generous contribution of donors, IAFC was able to raise $2,000 to provide full or partial training scholarships to 6 local leaders, including two indigenous students, to attend the regional training.
