Lethbridge Family Services ("LFS") is incorporated under the Societies of Alberta. Its principal activities are focused on assisting individuals and family units to improve their functioning at home and in the community, in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. The LFS is a Registered Charity and accordingly is exempt from income taxes under the provisions of the Income TaxAct. The LFS's mission is to provide community-based support to individuals and families to facilitate human potential, choice, and independence. Through advocacy, public education, prevention, intervention and community development, LFS responds to emerging family needs. The LFS is a private, non-profit community agency dedicated to providing services to those in need,regardless of economic status. The Agency takes an active role in the development of societal conditions, which encourage healthy family life through inter-agency cooperation and community planning. LFS is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and managed by a professional staff. The Agency is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services to Families and Children. The LFS provides services with a number of programs.
