In 2016, we installed a new exhibition called Voices in the valley for which we were awarded a Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Community Programming. To reach an even broader audience, we increased our selection of programs by 17%. Among other initiatives, these new programs and events included guided tours with experienced and knowledgeable docents, the first annual Black History Month cultural celebration, and a community art collaboration with the WarmZone, a drop-in facility for street engaged women. Seeing the need for youth arts engagement in Abbotsford, The Reach also began a series of Creative Confidence Youth Workshops.
