Our Blind People in charge program does the following: Trains blind adults in independent living skills such as Braille, adaptive technology, cane travel, cooking, job readiness and confidence-building. All teachers and mentors are blind. The program uses a problem-solving, empowering model of instruction. Over 1500 hours of volunteer bime were contributed last year.
