2017 activities will include another torch relay in the summer of 2017 and a second annual youth luncheon on December 10, 2017. New events included the 1st annual valentine's fundraiser put on to support the S.N.O.W program, which provides care packages to Winnipeg's homeless women. MHRI board, in conjunction with other organizations, organized a vigil at the Manitoba Legislative building to offer support to the victims of the Mosque massacre in Montreal in January 2017. One great focus in 2017 will be to expedite community awareness of the importance of human rights through speaking engagements across manitoba schools as well as development of a steering committee for various NPO's in support of human rights in Manitoba.
