The mission of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation is to help build and empower community leadership. The Foundation supports a broad range of local and national charities through an integrated suite of programs focused on volunteerism, strategic grants, and enhancing business support of the charitable sector. The volunteer programs are framed around the Foundation's "Volunteer Continuum", a strategy for broadening engagement and maximizing the effectiveness and commitment of volunteers. These programs include a unique team-volunteering program and board training and matching. The Foundation's strategic grants program includes providing support for professional development of charitable sector leaders and initiatives of select charitires whose purposes include building the capacity of charties and/or the charitable sector. The Foundation shares its knowledge and experience broadly through conference and workshop presentations, conveying and participating in discussions, and broad dissemination of though leadership papers such as "The Volunteer Continuum" and "Capacity Building in the Not-for-Profit Sector: Enhancing Organizational Effectiveness". All operating costs of the Foundation are covered by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
