Untitled Art Society (UAS) manages and operates two non-commercial contemporary visual art gallery spaces open free of charge to the public as well as sixteen affordable artist studios and a black and white darkroom. UAS arts programming includes public exhibitions, workshops and educational programming, the provision of production resources, and opportunities for public discourse. UAS exhibitions showcase the work of emerging artists as an important aspect of critical engagement in contemporary art at the regional, provincial and national level. UAS studios provide affordable working space for Calgary-based visual artists, a resource which is difficult to find in Calgary's turbulent rental climate. UAS has a one full-time staff member and a strong volunteer base to help with administrative and programming duties.
