The purpose of the Fort York Foundation is to raise, manage and disburse funds for the benefit of the Fort York National Historic Site. The major program currently in progress is a capital campaign to raise $6 million as a private sector contribution towards the construction of a visitor centre and related faciclities at Fort York ($20M) supporting the bicentenial of the war of 1812 and the future of the Fort York National History Site.
