MYRCA celebrated its 25th anniversary in the fall of 2015. To this end, and in keeping with their mission to collaborate with organizations doing similar work, MYRCA members met regularly with members of the Winnipeg Children's Literature Roundtable and the Manitoba School Library Association to plan 3 events for October 2015. The annual MYRCA award ceremony was one of the events and was significantly larger to mark the 25th. Preliminary planning included preparing grant requests and securing event locations. Authors both from inside and outside the province were involved so their timetables and remuneration had to be organized. Volunteers from all 3 organizations put in several hundred hours and more than a dozen volunteers were involved in the actual running of the 3 events over the course of 2 days and one evening. A bookmark was created in the fall of 2014 featuring the 2015 MYRCA list books to publicize the upcoming 25th anniversary. It was distributed free of charge in libraries and bookstores.
