To coordinate research efforts and provide grants for research into the causes of and treatments for substance abuse for the benefit of the public.3. To benefit health care professionals and the public by providing education on the causes of, effect of, and treatments for substance abuse and on the support services available for persons coping with substance abuse and their families by offering training sessions, seminars and meetings.
