Legacies In Action Society benefits the community and advances education by providing grants for arts, literacy and sustainability programs, as well as promoting volunteerism for the benefit of the community at large. The purposes of the Society are: 1. To educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the Arts by providing grants to fund programs for the benefit of the poor, children, Aboriginals and people with disabilities; 2. To advance education by providing literacy programs and grants for children, Aboriginals and people with disabilities; 3. To enhance and promote the Volunteer sector through the use of means such as technology to connect organizations that are either reliant on or seeking volunteers with individuals seeking to volunteer; 4. To educate and increase the public's understanding and support for people with disabilities and to provide programs and grants to assess, establish and maintain accessible and inclusive communities for all; 5. To increase awareness and enhance action by individuals and organizations on how to live more sustainably by providing programs and grants that demonstrate the connection between social,economic and environmental benefits.
